VERONA COUNCIL OF CATHOLIC WOMEN
The purpose of the Verona Council of Catholic Women (VCCW), along with the greater Parish Council of Catholic Women, is to support, empower, and educate Catholic women in spirituality, leadership, and service. Through prayer, fellowship, and charitable works, the VCCW encourages women to grow in their faith while actively serving the parish and community. Members work together to promote Christian values, support parish ministries, and provide opportunities for spiritual enrichment, leadership development, and service to others.
WHO WE ARE
The Verona Council of Catholic Women serves both our parish and community through a variety of ministries and service projects. Members assist with bereavement dinners and luncheons, host meals for deanery priests during the Advent and Lenten seasons, provide refreshments for Verona High School baccalaureate services on a rotating basis, and organize quarterly community service projects. All women of Sacred Heart Parish are encouraged to participate and learn more about the organization. Meetings are held on the first Wednesday of each month in the parish hall.

QUARTERLY REPORT
OCT. - DEC 2025
Greetings from Verona!
The holiday season was a busy and fun one for our church ladies. In October, several of us attended a trivia night event to raise awareness and funds for our local Pregnancy Care Center. Also in October, tragically, one of our parish families lost their home to a fire caused by an electrical storm – we were able to make a monetary donation to help in their recovery efforts. In November, progress was made toward completing the church’s nursery/cry room renovation, which was in dire need of updating. We also chose to support the ARC of the Ozarks (a nonprofit that supports individuals with disabilities) by adopting the local residential center for the Christmas season. An “angel tree” was decorated with angels, each bearing a brief description of an individual resident and their gift preferences. Our parish was able to support all 25 residents, fulfilling all of the facility's gift needs. In December, we also went Christmas caroling at a couple of retirement facilities and then out for dinner at a steakhouse, enjoying one another’s company and a lively game of white elephant. We also hosted the priest's dinner for the penance service. Finally, our parish, Sacred Heart of Verona, is in desperate need of steeple renovation, and as a congregation, we are trying to raise $100,000 to complete it. The VCCW is contributing by planning and hosting fundraisers, including bake sales. We welcome information, including grant applications, to help us surmount this monumental task. May the Peace of the Lord be with you all during the Lenten season.
