ANOINTING OF THE SICK
Through the Sacrament of Confirmation, we receive the gifts and strength of the Holy Spirit in a special way, just as the apostles did at Pentecost. Confirmation completes our initiation into the Church that began at Baptism and deepens our relationship with God. Through the anointing by the bishop, candidates are strengthened in faith and called to live as true disciples of Christ.
A GUIDE TO ANOINTING OF THE SICK
Through the prayers of the Church, the anointing with sacred oil, and the laying on of hands by the priest, those receiving the sacrament are offered spiritual strength, peace, comfort, and healing. The sacrament may be received by anyone facing serious illness, preparing for major surgery, weakened by old age, or nearing death. If a person recovers and later becomes seriously ill again, the sacrament may be received again.
If you or a loved one would like to receive the Sacrament of the Anointing of the Sick, or would like visitation and Holy Communion, please contact the parish office.
