Parish School of Religion (PSR) is a faith formation program for the grades PK-12th. The program typically serves 140 students and has 20 teachers and teachers aides. Classes start after Labor day and conclude at the end of April. We do one group event each quarter. For the month of October we do a decade of the rosary together as a group before we dismiss for class and the last class we do a living rosary by lighting candles as each prayer is said. This year are other group activity will be over MardiGra and Lent.
Faith Formation is a very important part of our church. We strive to teach the kids that they are not only the future of the church, they ARE the church. We encourage them to get involved, by serving at mass, reading and many other things. The PSR program prepares the students for receiving sacraments, for students that are not preparing for a sacrament PSR allows them to continue to learn about the faith and grow deeper in their love for God.
Our rules for our program are as follows:
1) You must be a registered member of our parish.
2) Sacramental prep classes have a 2 year requirement.
3) Have to turn in a complete registration form by the deadline. (deadline varies each year)
